Below is an update to John Sing Sr of South Carolina indicating his wife may have been Delilah Sing. Hopefully other researchers may have addition pieces to this puzzle.
On August 22, 1831, John Durant of the probate court for the District of Horry (South Carolina) appointed Thomas Sing to dispose of the estate of Delilah Sing. Delilah Sing “died intestate” or without a will while “she lived at the time of her death” within the District of Horry. This would suggest Delilah Sing could be the wife of Thomas Sing, however he is believed to have married Mary Jane Mackin before 1828 when their son (John Sing) was born. As result, it would appear Delilah Sing likely was the mother (or step mother) of Thomas Sing as it is believed John Sing (Sr) had died a few years earlier (see: John Sing Senior of South Carolina).
On February 20, 1832, was filed for the inventory of the Estate of Delila Sing of “All Saints Parrish” in Horry County, South Carolina. The inventory (dated September 8, 1831) listed only a few items; including a chair, “marrying clothes”, a cow and a yearling. The appraisers of the value of these items were S.B. Rhuark (Rheuark), Philip Faulk, and John Sing. Since it does not state junior or senior, this indicates there was only one John Sing living in the area which again suggests John Sing (Sr) was no longer alive and the appraiser was John Sing (Jr).
